For 20 years Jennifer Davis has been a leading broker in Charleston’s downtown luxury residential market with a primary focus on properties within the National Landmark District. During her distinguished career in Charleston real estate, Jennifer has been awarded the prestigious South Carolina Governor’s Honor Award for Historic Preservation and her projects have been the recipients of grants and tax credits from the South Carolina Department of Archives and History and the Department of Interior. She has served on the Coastal Conservation League Board, the Palmetto Conservation Foundation, and the Beaufort Historic Foundation.

Jennifer  founded Domicile, a real estate investment and brokerage firm in 2007,  and later joined  Maison in 2019 . Prior to founding Domicile,  Jennifer was the co-founder of Ibis, Inc., a historic real estate development partnership focused on adaptive re-use of historic properties. Under Jennifer's leadership, Ibis purchased, restored and sold more than 20 properties.  This is where she gained knowledge about the best practices of commercial and residential restoration and preservation including negotiating terms, using conservation easements, state and federal tax credits, and navigating zoning and architectural review boards.

Jennifer is known  for setting price per square foot records for clients who are selling their luxury residential properties.  She is a broker who is in the know about upcoming properties before they hit the market.  She ensures absolute  discretion and privacy  for her high profile clients.  She has established long-term professional relationships within the city’s preservation boards, zoning boards and architectural review boards. These relationships and the knowledge about how the wheels turn, benefit her clients. .  Jennifer limits her client list to those clients whose needs and priorities align with her skills, ensuring the best possible outcomes.  She has worked  across a series of deals and in some cases across generations with many of her clients.  She has a  shared understanding with those moving to Charleston who also have a  dedication to preservation, having restored homes in New York City,  La Jolla, Harbor Springs, Fishers Island, The Adirondacks, Beaufort and Charleston.

Jennifer attended Foxcroft School in Middleburg and her family has been involved in horse racing, fox hunting and show jumping since the early 1900s.  She  attended The New York School of Interior Design. Her interior design skills are helpful to buyers who are considering  design changes to an existing home or to sellers in need of staging a advice for their home before placing it on the market.  Articles about her design and creativity have been written by the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, House Beautiful and Home Style.

On a one block, cobblestone street, in an 1840’s Greek Revival house,   Jennifer raised her four children.  Two of her children have moved back to Charleston and are raising their families in the historic district.  She and her husband delight in their four and counting grandchildren.

Little known facts:   Jennifer is the author of three children’s books which have been published in five languages by Workman Publishing.  At her house on Maiden Lane, backgammon players from all corners keep the dice rolling.
