Buying the House Next Door

The Wall Street Journal recently featured Jennifer Davis in an article about the growing trend to purchase properties adjacent to or near a home already owned. This creating of a compound become more prevalent during the pandemic as more and more people worked from home. In the long run it just makes a good investment decision as well.

In Jennifer's case it made perfect sense. Her growing family included adult children who enjoy being near, but not on top of, family when they visit. Buying the home across the street gives everyone a bit of privacy and the ability to roam a bit on their own, while still being near.
